AGV S4 Helmet
AGV was founded in 1946 by Gino Amisano. Originally a leather seat and bicycle saddle maker, the company started making motorcycle helmets in 1947. AGV was acquired by Dainese, an Italian company that specializes in protective gear used in motorcycling, mountain biking and downhill skiing, in 2007. Based in Alessandria, Italy, AGV is one of the biggest companies providing motorcycle helmets to both Europe and the USA today.
Most popularly known as the creator of MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi’s helmet, AGV is a sought-after brand among sports bike riders.
The agv s4 helmet is reasonably priced, considering its great features. To top it off, it includes an internal flip-down sun visor that is easy to activate while riding so you can easily deal with the changing light conditions.
This just seems unimpressive because several helmets already have this feature, but the difference is its weight. Unlike other brands, the S4 does not give you weight penalty in exchange for this feature. The S4 is surprisingly light despite the built-in sun shade mechanism. Intake vents on the top of the helmet can be easily opened or closed with gloved hands.
The red tab at the back of the face shield quick-release mechanism is used to control the inner flip-down visor. This feature of the AGV S4 helmet is excellent for anyone who frequently travels through the city and has to deal with tunnels and bridges where lighting is less than ideal.
The AGV S4 helmet takes the trusted characteristics AGV helmets in the market, with some improvements. It has a streamlined chin guard for a more sleek shell and better chin protection. One of the issues in protective motorcycle helmets is ventilation. AVG has several answers for this. First, the intakes on the front of the helmet and the internal channels that deliver that air directly to the scalp are widened. Second, the shape of the helmet’s carbon/fiberglass shell has been modified to improve the extraction of air from within the helmet, keeping wearers cool. A great thing about its interior liner is it is fully removable, down to the neck roll. It also features AGV’s Dry-Lex hygienic lining against bacterial growth.
The AGV S4 helmet comes in numerous designs and color schemes. Available colors include solid white, blue/white/black zebra, black/white/gunmetal zebra, black/white/green zebra, and black/white/red zebra paint schemes. Aside from these, the internal sun shades of the AGV S4 helmet also come in a variety colors like clear, smoke, light smoke, yellow iridium gold, iridium blue, and iridium silver, among others.
